Diaphanous Wings

Diane's theme at Mixed Media Monday (Monday in Aussie ) is 'tell me a story'. My story is about Diane....a woman who has through her many years of art contribution helped to continuously draw many of us out of ourselves. The creative journey and process can be difficult at times but Diane always manages to impart a level of relaxed freedom...and yet still always challenged ;]

Thanks sweety!

Catching Up! Cracked for IF

I realize that many may find this rather somber and perhaps not typical......but I completely find the beauty and the symbolism of the 'empty nest' quite fitting. I promise to post pretty, happy things next.......but as I always say........this is the result of my inspiration......and if I allow myself for one moment not to honour my true heart........well what's the point?

Mixed Media Monday theme Fly

This is my first MMM challenge piece in some time! I was determined to get a little something completed. This Rolodex card (my newest addiction) is layered with map paper, gesso, a gel medium transfer little Tessa from PID (that I had issues with) and glitzed at the left side with micro beads and embossing powder. A blue bird transfer, ribbon and a paper flower with the word fly and inked edges.

mon jardin for 'Joy' theme @ Step Outside Your Box Saturdays!

Shh! Don't tell me them at 'Step Outside Your Box Saturdays' that there's a flourish here............I just couldn't help myself. It's a flourish free zone but the theme this week speaks to my heart "joy". mon jardin fills me with great joy and creating with beautiful images, ink and paper does too ;o} and yes this kind of cheekiness has me completely 'outside of my box'

Last Summer

When the winter gets as cold as we've experienced this year, not to mention the snow; it's hard to imagine that in a few short months I will be able to enjoy this glorious rose again....this is a David Austin own root rose. The only rose that is really impressive in my garden, year after year, despite many years of periodic neglect ;o}

An Award

Well I received this award from this dear (co-designer) Eileen and I am very happy and flattered but I am guilty of receiving a few others and being unable to respond in kind.......I apologize to those that I have been unable to reciprocate.
Having said that, I would like to pay this one forward to the following people because they inspire me in art, inspiration and kindness and, once again, I must apologize because I prefer not to follow the rules......so none of these inspirational bloggers need do anything but know that they are special ;o}

#1 Sandie from Sandie's Sanctuary
#2 Sandy from Stempelchaotin
#3 Linda from Friends In Art
#4 Marilyn from Outside the Lines
#5 Nellie from the Dutch Stamp Tramp
#6 Kelly from Artsy Visions
and finally #7 is Sherry from Esprit d art
All the blogger's I have selected share the one strongest common element........they are inspirational in their artworks and their continued commitment of sharing something of themselves is very much appreciated!
